Lots of skill putting these together, though he doesn't spend much time online anymore.

Lots of Doctor Who fan fiction, galleries, and trivia. I highly recommend the Serena

undergoing some major renovations to bring it up to the date with the new Doctor
Who series. I can hardly wait!

Information Sites
Keeping in Touch:
Facebook - one of the better social
network sites. It seems to get the best traffic
with our friends and family. We're on there quite a bit at the moment.
Flickr - good for sharing photos. We
have a private account for sharing pictures with friends and family.
Linkedin - The equivalent of Facebook
for social networks on the professional level. Highly recommended!
LiveJournal - This is a journal/blog
site. Christy posts updates about the kids there (and tries to be rant-free).
Skype - a phone and IM service that's free
and works well.
MySpace - Christy is not so enthusiastic
about this social networking service. The pages are hard to look at, but we have accounts there as well.
It seems to be more popular with the single crowd.
Plaxo - Christy hasn't figured out of this
social network is any good but has an account there.
It seems it wants to straddle the friend and professional social
networking.
Classmates:
Classmates.com:
High school pals - Look at the Mira Loma HS page. College pals - see
the Cal Poly section. Requires cookies and tries to trick you
into paying for a membership, but it does have some pretty complete listings, with
new entries being added all the time. Basic enrollment is free; cookies
must be active for browsing.
www.alumni.net:
Another MLHS page. Must be a member to do anything.
This one has its own problems - when you register, it insists that you have to
provide two email addresses for friends and family "to help advertise the site."
Please don't oblige them - it annoys me that they ask you to give out the
private addresses of friends who probably don't need any extra spam.
You can always put in fake addresses for your friends. Also, you may wonder
why my name appears in the listing twice - I enrolled with the site long ago
before they changed how it was run, before they used email addresses to track
users. My information migrated over, and they didn't allow for updates without
the email address - so I had to re-enroll and couldn't do anything about the
old entry. Oh well! Personally, I think Classmates is better, but you never
know...
